Yes. For a cat. Or a dog. Or someone who has touched your heart and wrapped its furry little paws around your neck and given you kisses.
What brought this on? Some snuggles this afternoon with my own kitten and reading that Neil Gaiman (et al) lost Zoe.
The shelter where I adopted my Shadow finds unique ways to find help thanks to the outreach available with “these modern technological advances such as the internet” (takes tongue out of cheek), as I believe are most shelters. Recently they offered Pet Portraits for Valentine’s Day. Isn’t that sweet?
I ask you to give as you are able to your local animal shelter in any way you can, be it a monetary donation, newspapers, or your time to help walk the dogs— especially in the rain.
And please, don’t forget about Haiti. But also, please be aware of scams and fraud that sadly surround many crises.
